Training that prepares youth for participation in sport and life.

Technique Centered

Athletes will learn proper technique and skills required for training at the high school level and beyond.

Super Fun

Training is centered around challenging and engaging activities to keep athletes competing against themselves and others.

Conducted by Matt Bruce, this strength and speed program will focus on foundational weightlifting exercises, SAQ (speed, agility, and quickness) improvement drills, metabolic conditioning, and bodyweight gymnastics. Each session will be challenging and competitive in an attempt to stimulate the young mind and promote general exercise and wellness from a young age. Safety and technique are the first focus.

This course is open to boys and girls entering 5th-9th grade.

Class coached by Catholic High Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Matt Bruce

Matt Bruce is an Olympic Weightlifting National Champion, a member of 7 World Teams and alternate on both the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Teams. He’s been coaching athletes to gain explosive strength, power and force velocity development since 2006.

Bruce has been led by one of the best in the weightlifting industry, Gayle Hatch. Hatch’s system is used for many top college programs nationwide, including Alabama, LSU, Florida, Ole Miss and Florida State, as well as NFL teams including NY Giants and Buffalo Bills. Bruce knows the skills and conditioning needed for athletes to transition to the high school level.
